You can hard reset your Motorola phone droid, if you clear all the data you want off the device and start fresh. There are two ways you can perform a hard reset. One option is hardware-based, where a key combination before the device will boot into the Android OS to use. The other option you can use the software menus.
Note: Be sure that all your data before you support this action. The data in the memory of the Droid is as application data, history, call history and bookmarks will be deleted. Data on the SD card is retained when you choose to format.
Hardware hard reset method
First Turn out the Droid. If it does not go out, take the battery out then put it back in.
Second Open the keyboard and press the X button while holding down the power. The device turns on. Hold the buttons until a yellow triangle appears on the screen.
Third Press the camera key and volume keys up at the same time to get to the menu. (I had to press several times to get it to work).

4th Select Use the directional pad to the right of the keyboard to select the format option.
Software hard reset method
First Open the Settings App Home> Menu or tap the slider application and select the Settings icon.
Second Select Privacy.
Third Select Factory data reset.
4th Select Reset Phone.
The hard reset process takes a few minutes. When it is finished, you can restart the Droid, and it will be reset to factory settings, as when it was pulled out of the box. The unit is ready to be reused, sold to another user or stored. Data on the SD card, such as photos and music will still be present. Make sure the SD card, remove the device or format it, if you do not want it falling into the wrong hands.
